The southwest area of Lassen Volcanic National Park provides steep slopes and sweeping vistas that are perfect for sledding and snow play. At 6,700 feet in elevation, this area offers an expansive play area with greater snow and slopes than those gentler areas found at Manzanita Lake. The winter snow play area at Manzanita Lake is perfect for young children, cross country skiers and snowshoeing. Parking is conveniently located at the Kohm Yah-mah-nee Visitor Center and Manzanita Lake. It is a good idea to check the Park website before your trip to confirm available visitor services and open hours during the winter season.
