National Park Service selects Snow Mountain, LLC to operate visitor services at Lassen Volcanic Nati
Posted July 11, 2018The National Park Service today announced the selection of Snow Mountain, LLC to operate visitor services at Lassen Volcanic National Park. The concessioner will operate lodging, a campground, food service, retail, guided horseback rides, paddle craft rentals, and other visitor services at the park.
The operation of the concession contract, awarded through a competitive selection process, will provide a significant portion of the services visitors seek at the park, and is critical to providing a positive visitor experience. The visitor services include the management of the historic Drakesbad Guest Ranch in the Warner Valley area of the park.
“The staff and partners at Lassen Volcanic National Park are excited to welcome Snow Mountain, LLC to northern California” said Lassen Volcanic National Park Superintendent Jim Richardson. “We look forward to continuing to meet the needs of our visitors through innovative and high quality commercial services.”
California Guest Services, Inc. has served as the concessioner at Lassen Volcanic National Park since 1978. "California Guest Services, Inc. has helped to create many fond memories for our visitors during their time as our partner. We appreciate all of the work they have done for the park," stated Richardson.
Snow Mountain, LLC is a subsidiary of Ortega National Parks, a long-time concessioner with national park operations throughout the country, and it will assume responsibility for visitor services at the park in early 2019.
