John W. Koeberer, Chairman
John W. Koeberer is the Foundation’s Chairman. He is the President of The California Parks Company and The Redwood Parks Lodge Company, businesses that manage recreational enterprises statewide for public agencies, utility districts and non-profit organizations with emphasis on inland lake marinas, corporate event and catering venues, restaurants, RV and mobile home parks, campgrounds, gift and grocery retail operations and guest lodges.
John has taken an active, leadership interest in both professional and community organizations for the past 30 years. He has served as a member of the Board of Governors of the California Community College System and is a past Chairman of the California State Chamber of Commerce. He is a past member of the California Travel & Tourism Commission. John is the Founding Chairman of the Lassen Park Foundation, President of the California Parks Hospitality Association, member of the California State Roundtable on Parks, Recreation and Tourism and currently serves on the Advisory Council of the School of Parks, Recreation & Tourism at California State University, San Luis Obispo. He has recently been elected to the Board of the California Lodging Industries Association. John has previously served as Chairman of the Board for both Tehama and Humboldt Banks and is a past member of the Board of Directors of the Fibreboard Corporation.
John has been the recipient of many statewide and local community honors and was the winner of the Norman P. Clark California Tourism Entrepreneur of the Year Award for 2001.He was inducted into the California Tourism Hall of Fame in 1999. John frequently speaks on topics such as tourism, California business and personal development on a statewide basis.
